The Governments of the European Union have agreed -in principle- to stop imports of Iranian oil, EU diplomats said on Wednesday to media. The ban of iranian oil in Europe , along with tough U.S. banking/financial measures signed into law by President Barack Obama on New Year’s Eve, form an alliance of the Western countries to hold back Iran in its nuclear plans. Iran says the nuclear program is strictly non-military, but sources said that in a U.N. report published in November the U.N. believe Iran allegedly has sought to build an atomic bomb. READ MORE HERE
Talks between Tehran and major powers broke down a year ago. But on Thursday 5th January, Iran´s Chancellor Ali Akbar Salehi expressed Iran´s interest in resuming negotiation with the 5+1 Group of Nations, preferently in Turkey. READ MORE HERE
