Cheered by thousands of georginas in Tbilisi, French President Nicolas Sarkozy has told them that Russia should stop making “threats” against Georgia.
Mr Sarkozy said attempts to intimidate Georgia were “unacceptable”, but still consider Russsia as a friend.
Sarkozy said that Russia should abide by the terms of a ceasefire agreed in 2008, withdrawing from occupied territories. Then, Sarkozy helped brokering the deal between Georgia and Russia.
It is Mr Sarkozy’s first visit to Georgia in three years, since Russian invasion of Georgia stopped.
